Carl received his Bachelor of Architecture with high honors from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He continued his apprenticeship in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area at a distinctive design/build firm that specialized in digital design, fabrication and construction.

In 2003, Carl joined the studio of renowned artist Maya Lin. Carl’s role was key in completing building projects as well as select art commissions. This demanded intense detailing, responsible sourcing, and material sustainability resulting in minimal environmental impact. He was instrumental in assuring the studio’s reputation for diverse works at challenging sites for private and institutional clients, domestic and abroad.

In 2007, Carl co-founded OMAS:WORKS with his longtime friend and classmate. Their rigorous design practice included unique projects across New York City, New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, and eastern Long Island. Their production included projects in Kansas, the Pacific Northwest, southern California, Canada, Europe, and Australia. With a team of design professionals, the studio excelled in client/builder relations completing nearly 150 built projects, many achieving awards and publications.

In 2018, with an interest in engaging in a broader typology, Carl was invited to join Nastasi architects as Senior Architect where he interacted with Historic & Planning Boards, City Councils, political officials, Land-use Attorneys, and expert design professionals. He was lead designer and commanded teams on large scale projects ranging from master plans, rehabilitation and redevelopment of historical sites and buildings, civic spaces, and private developments. Each project exhibits a modern approach to master building.

Carl relocated from Manhattan to The Village of Athens in 2022 where he renewed his own practice. He maintains an international network of resources consisting of talented architects, designers, model makers and craftsmen.  Carl continues to expand his portfolio with a diverse range of clients, projects and building typologies. Carl is licensed by the States of New York, New Jersey, and Vermont. He is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He sits as guest critic at architectural juries at his alma mater and is a Board Member of the Athens Cultural Center in the Village of Athens, NY where he holds the position of Chair of the Building Committee, leading the design for the Center’s future renovation and expansion.
